Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
An appointment is better: it reserves the time your case needs. For choosing frames or getting an adjustment, you are welcome to walk in during office hours.
How often should I have an eye exam?
It depends on your age and whether there is anything to watch. We cover it in detail in the article on exam frequency, in the eye health section.
Do you see children? From what age?
Yes. For children it is best to call first: depending on their age we will guide you on which office and what kind of visit fits.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. We see patients in Spanish and English, and the visit is explained in whichever language you prefer.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most of the popular vision plans. Many plans do not cover every treatment, so it is worth checking with your office before your visit. When we call you, we will review your plan with you.
Can I use a prescription from another office?
Yes, as long as it is current. Bring the prescription and we will make your eyewear from it.
How long will my glasses take?
It depends on the lens type and the frame. We have our own lab, so most jobs move quickly. We give you a specific date when you place the order.
My glasses broke. What now?
Stop by any of our three offices. If the frame can be repaired we will repair it; if not, we will help you choose another and reuse your lenses where possible.
Do adjustments cost anything?
No. Nose pad and temple adjustments are always free, at any of our three offices, as long as the frame is in good condition and it is only an adjustment.
Do you handle urgent eye problems?
For sudden severe pain, loss of vision, or an injury to the eye, call the office by phone or go to an emergency room. Do not use the website form for an emergency: nobody reads it instantly.
Do you have prescription sunglasses?
Yes, and high-end sunglasses as well. Your prescription can go into a sun lens.
Is there parking?
Yes. All three offices have free parking and wheelchair access.
What if I cannot make my appointment?
Call us with some notice and we will move it. That lets us offer the slot to someone else.
Do you keep my prescription on file?
Yes, your record stays at the office where you were seen. If you need a copy of your prescription, ask by phone and we will prepare it.
Question not here? Call us, or send an appointment request and we will answer it on the call.
